Like Seeds on the Wind is the second episode of the Family Days Programme, where children and their parents can participate in special activities realised by Manifesta 12 Gardeners together with local associations and Cassandra Funsten. Thanks to the Speedy Tours led by the Gardeners of Manifesta 12, they will discover the artists which have inspired the workshops and assist the children in their artistic activities throughout the day.
The day will unfold through a series of discoveries:
DISCOVERY 1. The language of objects
Are you ready to tell new stories? Objects of all shapes, sizes, both old and new, light and heavy are looking to tell their stories . Come meet us at Tineo! The workshop is inspired by the installation Relocation, Among Others Things by Khalil Rabah.
DISCOVERY 2. Body Map
Let’s draw our bodies in motion as they cross roads and create our path. How do you move? Let’s go along with it. At the end of the workshop, giant outlines will show where we have been and where we are going. The workshop is inspired by Toyin Ojih Odutola‘s Scenes of Exchanges.
DISCOVERY 3. Our many-layered reality
New worlds await us inside the Botanical Garden under the magnificent Ficus macrophylla f. columnaris to discover stratification of space and time. Led by Cassandra Funsten, the workshop is inspired by the installation The Drawned World by Michael Wang.
DISCOVERY 4. Treasure garden
Who is ready for a treasure hunt at the Botanical Garden, to discover the fascinating world of the reproduction and growth of plants? Curated by Famiglie Arcobaleno, Arcigay Palermo and Palermo Pride. The workshop is inspired by the installation of the Foreign Farmers of Leone Contini.
