What does accreditation mean?
- An accreditation is a certification of competence in a specified subject or areas of expertise. Manifesta 12 issues two kinds of accreditation: one for Press & Media and one for Art & Architecture Professionals
- Press & Media representatives interested in attending and covering Manifesta 12 can apply for an accreditation from February 26 – May 20, 2018. If their application process is successful, they will receive an Accreditation Pass, which provides free access to all Manifesta 12 exhibitions and venues during the duration of the biennial. For Press & Media, Accreditation Passes will be issued at the Manifesta 12 Accreditation Desk from June 15 to June 24, 2018. After this period, Press & Media representatives are kindly asked to send an email with their planned date of arrival and the documentation requested (see answer to “Who can apply for a Press & Media Accreditation?”) to accreditation@manifesta.org at least two weeks before their arrival to Palermo, and can collect their Accreditation Passes valid three days at the Manifesta 12 Ticket Office at the Teatro Garibaldi di Palermo. You should receive an answer to your online application for accreditation within 1 month of submission.
- Art & Architecture Professionals (curators, museum directors, collectors, art advisers, architecture professionals etc.) can also apply for an accreditation from February 26 – May 20, 2018. If their application is successful, they will receive an Accreditation Pass, which provides free access to all Manifesta 12 exhibitions and venues during a specified time period (June 15 – 17, 2018). For Art & Architecture Professionals, Accreditation Passes will be issued at the Manifesta 12 Accreditation desk from June 15 to June 17, 2018. You should receive an answer to your online application for accreditation within 1 month of submission.
- The Preview Days for Press & Media, and Art & Architecture Professionals (June 14, 2018 for TV only; June 15 and 16, 2018 for all accredited press & media and art & architecture professionals) focus especially on guests holding an accreditation.
Who can apply for a Press & Media Accreditation?
- Journalistically active media representatives reporting on the Manifesta 12 in Palermo with a Certificate of Employment. Manifesta 12 recognizes one of the following as a Certificate of Employment:
− A valid Press Card
− A link to a recent article, TV, radio or online media piece assigned to the applicant by name
− An official confirmation letter from the commissioning editor’s office/broadcasting station (original letterhead), confirming your assignment to cover Manifesta 12
− A proven track record of having written about Manifesta before
Who can apply for an Art & Architecture Professional Accreditation?
- Everybody working in the professional arts and architecture field. You will be requested to provide details about your company and function in the Manifesta 12 accreditation form.

When can I apply for an accreditation?
- Application forms will be active online online from February 26 till May 20, 2018
How do I know my accreditation process was successful?
- After submitting the accreditation form, you will see a message that your application has been received. As soon as the details of your application are checked, you get an official confirmation via e-mail that your accreditation was successful, within 1 month of your online application.
How will accreditations be issued?
- Accreditation Passes will be issued from June 15 till June 17 2018 for Art & Architecture Professionals, and from June 15 till June 24 2018 for Press & Media at the Manifesta 12 Accreditation Desk in Palermo. You should receive an answer regarding your accreditation within 1 month of submission of the form on our website.
I am an Art & Architecture professional attending Manifesta 12 after June 17. Am I still getting an Accreditation pass and free access to all Manifesta 12 exhibitions and venues?
- No. Accreditation passes for Art & Architecture professionals will only be issued from June 15 till June 17, 2018. Unfortunately, free access to all Manifesta 12 exhibitions and venues for Art & Architecture professionals is only possible between June 15 – June 17, 2018.
I am a Press & Media professional attending Manifesta 12 after June 24, 2018? Am I still getting an Accreditation Pass and free access to all Manifesta 12 exhibitions and venues?
- Yes. Please send an email with your planned date of arrival and the documentation requested (see answer to “Who can apply for a Press & Media Accreditation?”) to accreditation@manifesta.org at least two weeks before your arrival to Palermo. You can then proceed to the Manifesta 12 Ticket Office at the Teatro Garibaldi di Palermo to collect your press pass valid for three days.
How long will my Accreditation Badge be valid?
- Art & Architecture Professionals: From June 15 – June 17, 2018
- Press & Media Representatives can request a press pass valid three days with the possibility to renew it during the whole duration of the biennial
